To the port of Porspaul to the port of Porscaff, the famous coastal path (GR34) takes you by the rocky points of Beg ar Vir, Pors Creguin, to the beaches of Porsguen, of Gouérou, toward the creeks of Pors Goret, Pors Ar Marc’ and the cove of Milin an Aod.

Un peu d'Histoire/ A little of history
Ancien prieuré de l'abbaye de Saint Mathieu, c'est une paroisse de l'ancien diocèse de Léon, maintenue lors du Concordat. Elle est placée sous le patronage de Saint Paul Aurélien.
Saint Paul Aurélien était originaire d'une famille noble du pays de Galles. Premier évêque du Léon, il fut formé à l'école monastique de Saint Ildut (près du canal de Bristol). En compagnie de douze disciples et d'une nombreuse parenté, il s'embarqua pour l'Armorique vers 512. Il fit une première escale à Ouessant en baie de Lampaul puis débarqua sur le continent à Lampaul Plouarzel, à l'abri de la presqu'île de Beg Ar Vir, qui conserve, selon la tradition, dans un rocher, l'empreinte des genoux du saint homme.
Cette plage de débarquement devint Porspaul. Il construisit un ermitage au lieu-dit Lann Baol Goz (le vieux Lampaul), puis poursuivit sa route par Lampaul Ploudalmézeau pour atteindre l'île de Batz ou il se fixa. Il fut le fondateur de l'évêché du Léon en 530 et mourut à l'âge de 102 ans...
Une église fut bâtie à l'emplacement de l'ermitage. Les tempêtes de sables violentes et répétées des XVII et XVIIIè siècles, finirent par ensevelir totalement l'église de Lambaol Goz, ainsi que la chapelle voisine de St Egarec.
Le lieu de culte fut alors transféré dans la chapelle St-Sébastien, actuelle église paroissiale. La chapelle, ne fut dégagée du sable qui la recouvrait qu'en 1838 et restaurée en 1948.
Former priory of the Saint Mathieu abbey, this is a parish of the old diocese of Leon, maintained during the Concordat. She is placed in the patronage of Saint Paul Aurélien.
Saint Paul Aurélien is from a nobless family of the Wales. First bishop of Léon, he was formed in the Monastic school of Saint Ildut (near the Bistrol canal). In compagny of twelve disciples and numerous kinship, he embarked for the Armorique around 512. He did a first stopover in Ouessant in the bay of Lampaul and disembarking in the continent in Lampaul Plouarzel, to the shelter of the peninsula of Beg Ar Vir, which preserves, according to the tradition, in a rock, the knee tracks of the holy man. This landing beach became Porspaul. He builds a hermitage at the locality Lann Baol Goz (the old Lampaul), then continued his road by Lampaul Ploudalmézeau for reach the Batz island where he fixed himself. He was the founder of the bishop of Léon in 530 and died in age of 102 years old.A church was built in the location of the hermitage. The violent sandstorms and repeted to the XVII and XVIII century, ended by burying totaly the church of Lambaol Goz, as well as the neighbour chapel of St Egarec. The place of worship was then transferred in the chapel St-Sébastien, current parish church. The chapel, wasn’t clear of the sands which covered it only in 1838 and restored in 1948.
